2 Events each 4 hours to choose from

A Navigation Race consisting of land navigation while trekking and biking
A Navigation Clinic for beginner and intermediate racers wanting to learn navigation skills or brush up on their existing navigation skills - 2 hours of class and 2 hours of practice.

So if that is a little confusing it goes like this:

The RACE starts at 9:30 am. The race is exactly that a RACE. Running and biking through a beautiful TEXAS forest attempting to get as many CP's as you can in a set amount of time.

The clinic starts at 9:05 am. The race and clinic are 2 separate events - you can do one or the other. The clinic is a class with both map instruction AND actual in the woods navigation that we will help you with. Then you will be unleashed to tear through the forest on your own with a map, compass, and your newly learned navigation skills. NEVER BE LOST again.

NAV TEXAS Race

Teams of 1, or 2 will trek and bike the trails, bushes, dirt and paved roads
A great race for beginners, intermediates, and advanced
Anybody can do this race
You must have your own mountain bike and helmet.
Racers will get as many points as possible in 4 hours, first trek then bike.
A great first race or for those who want to push their limits

NAV TEXAS Clinic

Individuals will get instruction on how to plot points using a UTM (we will provide)
How to read a 1:24 scale map and all its features
The basics of using a compass (we have loaners if you don't have one)
How to land navigate while trekking and biking (you will need a bike computer - the cheapest ones are $20 and work very good)
How to shoot a bearing
How to pace count
At the end of the instruction we will have a small mock race set up for you to try out your new skills
Clinic and mock race will last about 4 hours

There will be 2 dates one in October and one March - both in anticipation of our Adventure Races the following month.

The rates below are for one date.

If you want to attend both dates you will need to register separately for each date.

During online registration you will pick which date you would like.

Participants may have support in TA only. No other support is allowed at anytime or anywhere except by other race participants. Penalty DQ.

* Refund Policy: You are entitled to a refund, minus a cancellation fee of $15 until 2 weeks prior to the start of the event. Within 2 weeks no refund! Sorry!
* Texas Adventure Racing is not responsible for refunds or cancellations in the event of a natural disaster or national emergency. Natural emergencies may include, but are not limited to severe weather including heavy rain, snow, tornadoes, hurricanes, river flooding, heat spells and cold spells. National or international emergencies may include, but are not limited to military conflicts, terrorist attacks, security threats, war, and heightened security alerts.
